Good value
Mar 8, 2008Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Compact, gentle learning curve for 1st timers, sturdy looking, decent LCD size and built quality
Cons: Internal finishing touches look alittle cheap (its China-made...), no view finder, 1 year warranty (additional 2 years add S$50)
Opinion:
Looks like a good all rounder basic camera. I bought it at the Suntec IT fair on 7 Mar 2008. Came with a bundle of other stuff - good value. The image read and flash recharge in between shots is much faster than the other entry level cameras I tried - Panasonic FX 12, the lower series Nikon coolpix's at about the same $. Photos quality looks decent from the couple of tests carried out to date.
Reccomended for the everyday type-put in the bag/car, budget and casual user. The $ won't burn a hole in the pocket. SD and xD cards can both be used (its bundled with a Kingston 1 GB card).
