The good: Excellent performance and photo quality; solidly built; extremely flexible custom settings architecture; onboard wireless flash controller.

The bad: A bit too expensive, given the competition.

The bottom line: Visibly better photo quality and slightly improved performance make the Nikon D300 a significant upgrade over the D200 and an excellent all-around choice.

Finally the wait is over ....and I have snagged myself a D300

Pros: Quality build, menus, image quality, direct HDMI support, it is a Nikon.....too much to list

So having been a D100 user for more than 5 years, I have watched and been tempted by a string of successors, including the D80, D70, D40 and then the D200. I decided to wait....and yes wait for what seemed a life time to get a D300. Well the good news is the D300 is now in Singapore and can be found at a few outlets. So where do I begin. Image quality options, shoot speed, enhanced menu optioning, 12.3MP, download speed. This camera is a dreamto use, is great to hold and feels more like a professional than semi pro camera.The 51 point focus area capability is a great inclusion.

Form factor is very similar to my old D100. Sure it is a tad heaver than other SLRs, but it has that legendary high quality Nikon finish. The increased LCD on the back is both bright and the menu structures are well laid out. Expect to take a ... Read more
