Jun 13, 2009Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: take reasonably great picture
Cons: battery didnt last long enough
Opinion:
have been using the s8 for 3 years. the non-original battery does not seem to last long. have spent on 2 such batteries. now left with the original. it tooks less than 50 pics and it goes dead. it used to take more than 100 pics when new.
this camera has standard, common features like other digicams. and it take reasonably good pics with good lighting condition.
dont expect much when taking night scenes though.
if it's not due to the battery problem i will still be using this camera on a daily basis.
thanks nikon.
pls put in some effort in making the battery and the camera work together.
excellent performance,compact & good price

Feb 24, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: super handy size, convenient controls, great images & features
Cons: A little scary to hold on to...no bumps like my old Coolpix and 3X optical zoom is a bit dinky
Opinion:
I haven't found a better point and shoot in this price range with these features and slip-in-a-pocket convenience. Call me after I've used this pup for a few weeks.
