CNET Asia Review
7.8
out of 10View score
The bad: No aperture-priority or shutter-priority modes; awkward optical viewfinder and power button.
The bottom line: The Canon IXUS 800 IS has practically everything you could want in a compact camera, though you might think the price tag a bit steep.

Nothing less than I expect from a Canon
Nov 2, 2007Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: IS function, 4x optical zoom, funky shoot options
Cons: Surface is scratched quite a bit although I take good care of it..
Opinion:
This is the third IXUS I am using and I still am gonna stick to Canon. It's easy to use, not too bulky yet not too clim (hate the SLIM types as they are proned to slip from butter-fingers). You don't need to read the manual to use the nifty functions and the battery life is a dream come true.
An all-rounder camera!
Jan 11, 2007Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Solid feel, ease-of-use buttons, great image quality
Cons: Few manual functions, no battery indicator, AF doesn't really help
Opinion:
An all-rounder camera! Bought my very first P&S camera 2 months ago and I'm toally loving' it!!
Outdoor shots, night shots, macro, underwater... you name it, it functioned very well and exceeded my expectations of this tiny fella!
A really cool gadget, although I wished I had a LITTLE more control over the settings. Nonetheless, this camera will stick with me for quite some time!
Great!
compact camera with stabiliser, great for holiday
Nov 29, 2006Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: stabiliser, solid build
Cons: on/off switch hard to press, camera surface prone to scratch
Opinion:
I got a Nikon DSLR already, I bought this as compact camera for holiday. it's sharp, fast, solid, small, the battery life is also great. My batery last whole day in my Msia trip without charging, I'm happy. My complains are: the on/off switch is too small, hard to press. Also the surface is prone to scratch, protect it with camera bag.
