The bad: JPEG artifacts crimp image quality; no TIFF mode.
The bottom line: Aggressively priced and stuffed with pro-quality features, the rugged Nikon D200 digital SLR offers the best of the D2X at about one-third the price.

All rounded camera for both pro and serious amateur. Value for money.
Nov 8, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Fast startup, good auto and manual controls, rugged body, overall good pictures
Cons: Short battery life
Opinion:
Excellent entry level professional camera for the serious amateur photographer. I like the immediate startup and continuous burst mode with no noticeable lag. My wife used it in "auto" mode and took beautiful sunrise photos in Israel.
Fast Response - Excellent handling Camera !!!!
Mar 2, 2006Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Fast response - short time lag, rigid and robust body
Cons: Battery life not as long as D70S
Opinion:
I got it for one month ago. First it gives me much better feeling than my previous D70 for handling and response. White balace auto is more accurate. Noise level until ISO800 are well controlled. In my opinion not only features are great but D200 gives a good feeling of being professional camera, fast response, control, balance and position of each buttons.
