The good: Top-notch, high-resolution images; 35mm-size sensor obviates focal-length conversions; big 2.5-inch LCD; unmatched low-noise images at ISO 1,600 and 3,200.

The bad: Overall build quality and performance typical of much cheaper cameras; no constant ISO display; images show occasional red fringing around highlight transitions; automatic white balance occasionally inconsistent.

The bottom line: A decent midrange digital SLR camera built around a superb sensor, the Canon EOS 5D delivers great images and the familiar 35mm-film-format shooting experience for a comparatively low (though still hefty) price.

Cons: no built-in flash

Disappointing build quality

Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Full-frame sensor
Cons: Non-weather-proof body for Pro price tag
Opinion:
The only good thing about this camera is the full-frame sensor. For the RPP of $6,999, I expected a weather-proof body like 1D. Overall it feels very much like my 20D, but costs more than double. Unless you really need a full-frame sensor (for ultra-wide angle), I would advise to wait till the price drops below the 5k mark.

Totally awesome

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)

Opinion:
I had the chance to try the camera today (21/9) and omg it was totally an experience I won't forget. The startup time was terrific and the 7 different shooting mode is one I would fancy as I take many raw pics. The overall feel of the camera is a lot better den my 350D. And with Canon new lens EF 24-205mm F4.0 IS USM, the pics were true to life living up to Canon dreams
of "bring you to the next digital dimension". Anyone with the intention of finding a replacement for their dSLR, namely the 300D or 20D, should have a look at this model. Cheers to Canon.
