CNET Asia Review
Very good
The good: Anti-shake capabilities; credit card size; large 2.2-inch TFT LCD; stainless steel body. 7.6
out of 10View score
The bad: Audible noise generated by the internal autofocus (AF) system; frame freezes during autofocus.
The bottom line: Targeted at snapshooters, this ultracompact camera features anti-shake capabilities along with a host of other user-friendly features.

beware of quality issue
Oct 3, 2006Rating: 1 out of 10 (Abysmal)
Pros: MPEG4
Cons: Bad quality
Opinion:
I own a S500. It broke down immediately after it passed the 12 month warranty period. BTW, I have taken very good care of the camera (i.e. it does not have a single scratch on the LCD display and I didn't drop it at all, not even once).
I sent for repair and was told the len system was down. I asked how to reduce such len failure from happening so freq in future. Not to mention that Casio can't give me any good advice, but I was given the attitude of this is a "good camera", "just you luck", "take it or leave it".
Great camera

Thinking to buy a P FX9 but decided to go with this as I really want something real slim and compact for my wife to take pics for our baby. No regret, camera is user-friendly, pic quality is quite good. :)

I used to have the Exilim 2.0 megapixels with mp3. I wanted to upgrade it and i was very happy that the s500 is finally available. I love the sleek and compact design. It fits my smallest purse easily. It is also very user-friendly. I definitely recommend this camera.
