The good: Ultraslim form factor; 2-inch LCD; noticeable improvement over the IXUS IIs; teriffic finish; good image quality.

The bad: Expensive; tripod mount slightly off-center from lens; slight purple fringing.

The bottom line: The Digital IXUS 40 is Canon's slimmest optical zoom model to date with some compelling features.

Have been looking for many months for a compact, lightweight camera. Tried many and this has to be arguably the best one on the market at the time I bought it. Even CNET gives it the #1 fashion camera.
