Campus Snapshots: Ngee Ann Polytechnic

The shots:

This shot is part of a series I am still working on called "Bus rides". Shooting people on buses is quite tough especially when you want to capture a candid moment in a small enclosed space. One trick is to pretend to shoot the chairs or test the camera, then to re-adjust the framing and snap the shot at the right.

This is somewhere that I want to be. Singapore has hidden places that are very different compared with the usual urban surroundings we are used to. To get the lalang to "glow", I shot it with the sun behind and shining through it. To get the details in the sky, you may want to underexpose the photo by 1 or 2/3 stop.

Sakura is one of the icons of Japan and one of the things on the "must see" list when one visits the country. The blooms of these pink delicate flowers caught my attention. The out-of-focus background brings out the beauty of these flowers.

It had just rained and the light from the Japanese lantern cast a soft red glow on the naturally pink Sakura, giving everything a different look and feel.

This was my first time out shooting after getting my camera. I saw how the light rays appeared over the cathedral. The image was converted to black-and-white to highlight the sun rays.

Copernicus helped the modern world understood that the sun doesn't evolve around the earth but the other way around, similar to what ancient Chinese used to believe about china being the center of the earth, a thing that forges clueless leaders at that time to easily enslave their people showing their supremacy. so cnet-Asia is supposed to highlight all things from Asia not only points of interest branded locally which aren't familiar to global netizens in Asia & beyond...
