Michael at Minapin glacier, Pakistan
Micheal (his entrepreneurial name) runs a food tent up at the base camp of the Minapin glacier. Life is tough for him, but the tourist dollar is very good. This shot was taken a day after the great Pakistan earthquake, which we haven’t a clue about until we went down to the village two days later. We witnessed some avalanches, but the notion of an earthquake never came to my mind.
