Snapshots: Kevin Yang

Name:
Kevin Yang
Equipment:
Canon 30D with a 135mm F2 primes lens and the HP Photosmart Pro B9180 photo printer which I use instead of going to a lab because the speed and quality of prints are comparable to what I get from a lab, if not better. The Photosmart Pro B9180 prints fast and its eight-color HP Vivera pigment inks provide the accuracy and range of colours that I need for my photos.
Photographer's note:
This was a series of images I produced for my graduating short film September. The photos were used in all publicity collaterals. The motivation behind the images was to recreate in print the actual scene we filmed. I treated the images to give it a more cinematic, lush and surreal feel, which is something I always strive for in my personal work.

Wait
This is a still shot of an actual scene from the film. Again, space is used to convey isolation and lose, both of which are prevailing themes in the film. The colors were graded to mimic the actual look of the film which bears very strong saturation.
