PMA 2007 show report

The 83nd annual PMA International Convention and Trade show (March 8 to March 11) this year takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada--where the platform for new imaging information and technology is being unveiled.

As with previous years, visitors to the event can expect to learn about the latest trends in the photo imaging industry. While most vendors have already announced their new lineups for 2007 even before the show started, we're expecting to hear more initiatives and breaking news to be delivered at the four-day event. Canon crushes rumors of EOS 40D with EOS 1D Mark III

Pentax's new ultracompacts for PMA
A 10-megapixel Optio A30, a waterproof Optio W30 and a pair of D.A. Star series glasses have joined Pentax's pre-PMA lineup.



Sony's guts spilled before official February 27 release
It's getting increasingly tough (or should we say impossible) to keep things under wraps and nearly all products go through their obligatory rumor mill phase in the entire life cycle. One anonymous tipster has taken things a little further with catalog snaps of the upcoming Sony Cyber-shots.

Unlike Samsung which usually employs an "overwhelm or biggest-fastest-tiniest" strategy, Casio is its usual gentle self when announcing new cameras--this time with the 10.1-megapixel Z1050 and the 7.2-megapixel Z75.



Samsung goes into overdrive with i7, L74 Wide and NV11
Samsung's top echelons must have been working their engineers really hard. Camera dust from CES has barely settled and the Korean chaebol is already announcing three more new shooters to flood the market.
