CNET Asia @ COMEX 2005: Digicam deals

Panasonic

  Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX8
Show price: S$649 (US$477.83)
Retail price: S$699 (US$514.64)
Remarks: With a much-awaited battery life improvement, Panasonic made the deal sweeter with a camera case, two pieces of 512MB SD card and a cleaning kit.
Specs: 5 megapixels; 3x optical zoom; 2.5-inch LCD; 94.1 x 50.5 x 24.2mm; 155g.
  Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9
Show price: S$749 (US$551.45)
Retail price: S$749 (US$551.45)
Remarks: The recently released FX9 ups its predecessor by 1 megapixel and a higher LCD resolution. Though S$100 (US$73.63) more expensive than the FX8, buyers with a larger wallet will get a camera case, a 512MB SD card, a 256MB SD card, safety case and a cleaning kit that could possibly justify the cost difference.
Specs: 6 megapixels; 3x optical zoom; 94 x 51 x 24mm; 155g.
  Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1
Show price: S$999 (US$735.52)

  Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30

Retail price: Not available.
Remarks: Panasonic has made several upgrades to the FZ20 which has now culminated to be the FZ30 with a higher megapixel resolution, flexible LCD screen, manual zoom and RAW capture option which probably resulted in the increase of S$100 (US$73.63). Buyers can pre-order the FZ30 at the show and expect to receive the unit end September.
