Performance
At a time-to-first-picture of about 2.5 seconds, you are unlikely to miss that Kodak moment again. You can continue shooting with forced flash at 3-second intervals and approximately 1.5 seconds without flash. Shutter lag which was averaged at less than 1 second was respectable, and autofocus came in at 1.5 seconds under most conditions.

Although you can shoot full-resolution photos at 5 megapixels in burst mode, the function is limited to nine shots at around 1.5fps. When we dropped down to VGA format, the T5 clocked 83 shots in 1 minute.

The T5 uses Lithium-ion battery which claims to be able to take up to 250 shots on a single charge.

We used a high-capacity 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo in our tests on the T5.

Battery life from the Lithium-ion battery performed above par when it still had 50 mins remaining after we took 180 shots (both normal shooting and in burst mode at different resolutions) intermixed with flash, plenty of zooming, picture review. The LCD worked well under normal lighting conditions. Like most other ultracompacts, there is no viewfinder on the T5, so you will have to depend solely on the LCD panel to frame and review your pictures.

Image Quality
The T5 generally produced photos with a good range of color, though we felt these somehow lacked vibrancy. We managed to capture reasonable details with the macro mode enabled while getting as close as 6cm to our shooting subject.

Noise was not too much of a problem at ISO 64 or ISO 100, but gradually became quite evident at ISO 200 and ISO 400. We did not notice any purple fringing when taking images with high contrast which was good. Most of our photos shot indoor tended toward a slight bluish tinge although that wasn't serious upon in-camera correction.
