User Review for Nikon D700

Excellent Buget Full Frame Prosumer Camera

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: High ISO quality, built-in flash, info button
Cons: Auto white balance
Opinion:
D700 is my very first DSLR camera after saving my budget, digging all information among different brands/models, read independent reviews and discussions in various forums. It takes over 1 year for me to decide the final choice and was mad for full frame as last.

I chose D700 over Canon 5DMKII as having better/dedicated control switches, faster fps, better/accurate auto focusing and built-in flash. Another plus is Made in Japan unlike other lower Nikon series. Inside, there is the sophisticated menu and options that give you full control to the setting. Note, don't expect you can own excellent pictures after getting D700. You need PRACTICE and to digest to 1 inch thick manual.

Some people said the shutter sound is too loud and annoying but I like that. Auto white balancing in night street light is suck with yellow/greendish but I always shoot in RAW and corrected later on, no problem for me. Auto focusing with 3D tracking mode is a bit misery, need to try hit & miss.

Well, I love it and no plan to change/upgrade/downgrade this gear so far.
