User Review for Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T70
A good choice for your first digicam
Mar 26, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Beautiful design, ease of use, small and light, big touchscreen, value for money
Cons: Photo quality not quite up to expectations, batt life
Opinion:
The best thing about the T70 is that its very easy to operate. You do not need an instruction manual to get you through most of the functions. The design is superb as the touchscreen replaces a lot of buttons. The screen is also larger than the Sony T20, a similar model to the T70, due to the lack of buttons. The smile shutter function is something that will definitely get a lot of attention during parties. Its not an important feature but it will generate a lot of buzz.
However, the picture quality does feel somewhat disappointing at times. Night shots are poor and the steady shot doesn't work well. Battery life isn't very good if you do a lot of editing of your pics on the camera (yes you can do some simple stuff much like what you can do on those neo-print machines) and also due to the use of the touchscreen as a method of input. There's not much that you can custom or adjust, so i'd just stick to the auto configuration most of the time.
Overall, i still think its value for money especially since most retailers are throwing in a whole bunch of goodies. If you want something stylish, affordable and simple, you may wish to consider this.
