User Review for Canon Digital IXUS 70

A great companion for snapshots travellers

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Small, lightweight and user-friendly operation.
Cons: no manual control for aperture and shutter
Opinion:
Bought camera to replace my old and heavy 4 megapixel camera for my oversea trip. What I like most of IXUS 70 is its size and weight. It can be easily slotted into most waist or sling pouch and doesn't weigh you down.

Its battery life is also commendable. A single charge last me for two days(90% of the shots taken without flash). The lack of battery indicator is not a problem at all. Just carry another spare battery.

The camera start up fast and the quality of shots is good with low noise till ISO 400. Selecting ISO 800 and above is not advisable as noise is very much noticeable.

Taking short video is easy by sliding the mode selector and pressing the shutter. The quality of the video is good enough for posting on youtube. But do have a high capacity SD card of at least 4GB if you intend to take long and large video.

The only fragile part of this camera is th Digital and AV OUT cover and the battery compartment cover. Both felt flimsy.
