18-28mm Wide angle & 28-300mm Super Tele-photo lenses
May 29, 2009 10:31 AM
I am still having the above lenses and a Minolta SLR camera body which I don't use anymore and planning to buy a digital SLR camera body.At the same time, I have a Panasonic compact cemera with 28mm-280mm fixed lens which I always carry with me as it's handy.
Since my compact camera already has the 28mm-280mm lens, I intend to sell away the 28-300mm Super Tele-photo lenses as it's a duplication of my compact lens.
As for the 18-28mm Wide angle lens, I intend to keep it for the digital SLR camera body.
If the connecting portion of the lens fit onto some digital SLR camera, should I both lens and will they be compatible as the camera body is digital whereas the lens are non-digital.
Another concern is the quality of the images taken with a fixed lens compact camera as against a digital SLR with interchangable lens.
May I seek your views and suggestion on the above. Thank you.

Form what i've read Sony's Alpha dslr's are compatible with minolta mounts. I suggest you take some of your lenses and see if you can try them out with some alpha dslrs or ask the person in charge about it.I have an lumix -FZ18 myself. compared to dslrs. image from dslrs are way better than compacts. That's the reason why i bought myself a canon 1000D, and images get better with better lenses.
