A good camera ( in its catagory)
Jan 22, 2008 11:06 AM
I compared a few models from reviews and at shops. So far this camera is one of the best at the price range of $500-$700.Reviews mentioned that this cam has a flash to flash recharge time of up to 5.6-10 seconds. But, I didn't feel the waiting time when I shot one pic after another indoor.
SX100 uses two AA rechargeable batteries- seems like a great choice as itÂ’s usually cheaper, replaceable with ease and last longer too. Only use Alkaline in emergency as they can only last around 1.5 hrs of shooting and uploading for this cam.
Picture quality is good except for minimal noise in low ISO (reasonable for this price range) and pics get off focus sometimes due to low light.
Camera is also bundled with easy to use softwares. But do watch out if you are printers (eg all-in-one-centre) installed on your pc. If the cam and pc connection fails, you would need to close the printer related programs at the taskbar.
This cam is is not difficult to use. If you are an existing digital cam owner you should be able to get familiar with the functions shortly.
To date the best price is S$529 plus other useful free gifts.
