Panasonic DMC-FZ18 or Canon PowerShot S5 IS ?

I am looking for a camera with great zooming, easy to use and producing a good quality photos for tours, which is better? Panasonic DMC-FZ18 or Canon PowerShot S5 IS ?Friends having many different reviews on these two camera. Panasonic use good for the lens and cannon is good for the quality photos.
My concern is just to be able to take scenery photos that look clear and can zoom well without too complicated function.
Thanks, please help me with some advices.
