Nikon D40 vs Canon 400D

I have contemplated enough between D40 vs 400D to buy. So far I am convinced with D40 but still the following things are hindering me. I would appreciate if you can provide your valuable comments to enable me to decide on the product.1. Only 3 point focus compare to 9 point focus of 400D
2. No Dust Reduction Feature
3. Only 6mp compare to 10mp of 400D
4. No IS or VR built in
Could you explain how essential are the above features, can I still go ahead with the D40 purchase by stomaching the above lapses.
