First take
Currently, the printer market is saturated with All-In-One (AIO) machines and it can be difficult for manufacturers to make their products stand out among the competition. HP's latest range of Photosmart inkboxes can be hard to differentiate from its rivals, but they come with attractive price tags, such as the Photosmart C5380. If you print a lot of photos at home, you will find the color LCD and five-ink system useful. However, it doesn't come with fax and network capability, so it's a consideration if you're looking for a multifunctional printer for your home office.

Canon Pixma MX850
The good: Quick, good-quality scan; plenty of functions well-suited for offices; intuitive software.
The bad: Much slower print speed than promised; not great for photo printing; poorly designed USB slot.
The bottom line: The Canon PIMXA is a solid office performer with a raft of features, but don't expect top-quality photograph printing.

Canon Pixma MX7600
First take
Last year, we tested the Canon Pixma MX700 with strong results. The multifunction printer, scanner, fax machine, and copier performed intuitively and yielded excellent quality prints. Most importantly, in the world of multifunction printers, each of the functions operated easily and efficiently on its own. Our only complaints were that it was a tad slow on text prints, lacked advanced faxing options, and didn't have an auto-duplexer. Canon has answered those issues with the new S$899 (US$647.32) Pixma MX7600. The printer features superb photo-quality output that you simply won't get from a laser printer. This, coupled with a new proprietary printhead system, auto-duplexer, and significantly faster output speeds make the MX7600 an excellent option for anyone in the market for a high-grade, photo-capable All-In-One.
