And the winners for Home AV are:

Sony VPL-VW60
The good: Accurate color decoding; reproduces deep shade of black; comprehensive feature package.
The bad: Inaccurate primary colors.
The bottom line: While its color fidelity is not nearly as good as other late-model Sony SXRD products, the otherwise good-performing VPL-VW60 home theater projector remains a solid value.

InFocus Play Big IN82
First take
We have a new kid on the block and that's none other than the InFocus Play Big IN82, the US company's first 1080p home theater projector in Asia. Unlike its previous flagship SP777 "turtle", this has a single-chip design built around a more capable Texas Instrument DarkChip3 DLP engine. Resolution upgrade aside, InFocus has also adopted new styling for this series. While we wouldn't say it's better than the previous design, the IN82 is still pretty much the only entry in its class featuring an integrated swivel stand and torchlight-equipped remote. These are some old tricks inherited from the previous lineup which may not be sufficient to offset its late entry.

Panasonic PT-AE1000
First take
Over the years, Panasonic has been very successful with its family of home theater projectors. Some of these have included Editors' Choice winners such as the PT-AE700 and the new AX100. Leveraging on its expertise in the visual technologies, the Japanese company has recently developed a totally new optical system. This, together with a 1080p 3LCD engine, will be featured in its first full-HD model, the PT-AE1000.
