At a local launch in September, Canon unveiled 11 new models for its PIXMA range of printers. Heading the pack was the flagship iP5300 premium photo printer, which is among the first to feature Canon's new 3-size droplets (1, 2, 5 picoliter) technology and a double encoder system to achieve high print speed with accuracy.

The Photosmart D7360 is HP's latest offering in the competitive dedicated photo printer arena. Judging by the speed, the D7360 is likely to garner a lot of interest in the photo enthusiast and professional circles, especially when it's marketed as the world's fastest photo printer in comparison with competing models (available as of April 2006).

Printing on-the-go isn't new. Yet, one thing most people often overlook is whether the portable photo printer supports battery packs so it can actually work without having to plug into an AC outlet. Canon has recently added the CP730 and the CP720 to its SELPHY lineup of photo printers. You won't be able to tell the pair apart from afar since both look relatively similar. The main differences between both are that the CP730 sports a larger 2-inch color LCD and an optional battery pack.
