Queuing up to 6 hours for the iPhone: Worth the wait or foolish?

This is hmmmmmm... pathetic. This is just technology that will be obsolete in just less than 5 years. Looking back at this event, we will laugh at the idiocy of it all.

the ppl who queued up last 3G launch has managed to realize that getting a 3G did nothing to increase their "coolness" or popularity and that it made them feel more foolish. so this time, they decided to skip the queue for the 3G S!!

Foolish or not is subjective la... those ppl who made online reservations are either apple fanatics, or they were taken-in by Singtel's online statement. Hv you guys/gals read what was published on singtel's mobile website then??? therefore, perhaps those who paid an initial deposit of $50 were taken in and was not aware of the "real/actual situation" at comcentre.... however, it also goes to show about successful marketing by singtel.... another thing, if you guys/gals keep arguing about losers/foolish ppl, then what about the guy who queued up during the last 3g launch & then managed to get first this year??? he is an apple fanatic!!! :)

I got the point but you DON'T. I am NOT very distraught, irritated and angry over those people Q up but make me laugh. NO ONE knows whether they will still get the phone after the 3 day launch despite the deposit.......: You paid $50 deposit guaranteed for the phone(u said). I got it...U got conned & I feel sorry for you. I guess another new version Apple iphone 3G S coming up again in the near future. Hope, by then, u grow up wisely! You are entitled to your choice.

Ppl who queued up lost 3 to 8hrs of their life... definitely a loser! In addition, some ppl who queued did not even pay $50 for reservation fee... a double whammy for those who paid!!! HAHAHA! and all you get is a crappy knockoff shirt! and group shot of your fellow LOSERS! wow! priceless!

enrique - i agree with you as per my other posts.. i don think apple is a good phone and is overhyped. but this is also a strange consumer tech market.. most ppl knew what they were getting and are happy getting it. aquariuslang - yes very good. u got the point. question is as per the subject matter so your statement is that its not worth queueing up. thats fine. but u seem very distraught, irritated and angry over those that had queued up, i wonder why? btw NOONE knows whether they will still get the phone after the 3 day launch despite the deposit payment as the slip said it MUST be collected within the 3 days, hence the queue. get it?

Question is: worth the wait or foolish? Without second thought, by reading the comments will tell how childish he wrote the words e.g. just born spiteful, do not own the iphone, immatured bored jealous people, etc..... Hey, man, you need to grow up! I assume you're not a school kid. I agreed with minimach, got to do with the mentality ......plus common sense! You still be able to get the phone after July 12, wasted the time in Q & paid $50 for the deposit.......why the rush???....is it to show off to the public to have your picture taken & marketing for Singtel?

jealous? u must be kidding... i would nv get an iphone, u compare the price of ipod touch 2g 32gb with iphone 3gs without contract, there's difference about close to 1000 sg... paying 1000 just to be able to call people through ipod? no thx.. u ask anyone who's into mobile phone and not an apply fan or being brain wash by apple to think that apple is a holyphone... they will easily point to plenty more better phones than iphone 3gs... now is already 2009 and apple still selling and using 2004-5 technology in iphone 3gs (not on multitouch screen, but more of the 3mp camera where they could hv put in or SHOULD put in at least a decent 5mp... and oh, u cant even send files.. yes iphone to ipod touch can send picture already i know...) but what about other file? and comon, have to wait till lately then include the bluetooth headset fuction in 3.0 software? ...

loser minimach, this is my last post as i do need to justify LOGIC to a kid. This also goes to enriqueyang and aquariuslg... how do you scientifically justify what you just say? queueing up for a gadget is a loser? or that queueing up for a rock concert is cool whilst queuein up for iphone is not. what you fail to realise is that Apple has somehow created an euphoria for the iphone even though i think its functionality is noway near WM. Credit Apple for that. Have you seen long queues for the phone that you have or even ANY blackberry or WM phones? Also note the long queues were also evident in Aus, Japan etc. It wasnt probably as long because they are more efficient than crappy Singtel. everyone is entitled to their opinion yes, but please back it up with substance. why should your opinion be on calling people losers? are you that free or just born spiteful? save your opinions on devices, religions and issues and not on calling people names who choose to do something you may not agree on. btw thats call insulting and not having an opinion. furthermore its obvious you called ppl losers cos you DONT HAVE an Iphone 3GS. Yes the Iphone is no big deal, but how on earth can you justify 'losers' when u havent even test it out? maybe iphone does actually fulfill some ppl lives. its obvious you guys are immature bored jealous ppl.
