Prolink launches Netbook with HSUPA

For a company which made its chops dealing in networking equipment, we were surprised to hear of its foray into the Netbook sector. Seems like the barrier to entry into this niche market is so low, all it takes is branding and finding the right OEM.
The Prolink Glee TA-009 seems no different from the rest of its competitors, save for the fact that it comes bundled with a HSUPA radio for linking up to the mobile broadband Internet. At S$699 (US$561.63), it is one of the cheapest WWAN-enabled Netbooks in the market, with similar models like the LG X120 coming in at around S$800 (US$642.78). Weighing 1.1kg, the 10.1-inch minilaptop sports an Atom 1.6GHz processor and Intel 950 integrated graphics engine under the hood, hardly something to write home about. If this Netbook attracts your fancy, it is available in Asia for S$699 (US$561.63) with the three-cell battery pack.
