Setting up the F1 night race in Singapore
Aug 5, 2009
A lot of logistic work goes behind a Formula 1 race, what more one that's held at night. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the preparations for the upcoming Singapore F1.
This is a scale model of the Marina Bay street circuit in Singapore. You can see the Singapore Flyer in the foreground and the Pit Building on the right. Drivers race a total of 61 laps in an anti-clockwise direction. Note that the start and finish points are not in the same place, so the total distance covered is less than 309.087km (5.067km x 61 laps). The start line is along the middle of the Pit Straight, while the finish line is at the beginning of the stretch.
