Winner's trophy for inaugural F1 night race unveiled
Sep 18, 2008
Designer Zulkifle Mahmod and CEO Singapore for SingTel Allew Lew had the honor of unveiling the winner's trophy for the first time to the press. Unlike the Valencia Grand Prix trophy which is modeled after the city's Reina Sofia Arts Centre, the Singapore race trophy's modern and elegant design takes its cue from SingTel's invitation to "Come Shape the Future of Racing".
Born in 1975, Zulkifle Mahmod was picked from a selection of artists for his "innovative ability to merge multimedia and sculpture" which complemented SingTel's ideals for an inaugural trophy. He was also one of four artists which participated in the 52nd Venice Biennale in Italy for the Singapore Pavillion in 2007.
