Sep 13, 2008
A soldier carries a SUGV in training at Fort Bliss, Texas. Just this week, iRobot announced that it has won a new five-year contract with the Army to deliver a potential US$200 million in robotic gear and services. The company has already sold some 1,700 PackBots to the US military.
"The reality" of the Future Combat Systems, Maj. Gen. David Halverson told bloggers in a conference call last week, "is that it's just not future anymore. It's going on now". Halverson oversees the Army's force modernization effort.
