ReflecTech makes a reflective mirror film of pure silver, sandwiched between polymer layers, which can be applied to dishes and troughs for concentrating solar power. It's supposed to be less expensive than polished aluminum and more durable and flexible than glass.
A New York bakery put the material in a hole in the floor for daylighting, according to ReflecTech director Michael DiGrazia. He said the Arvada, Colo., company's manufacturing is also done in the US.
