Patriot Solar Group's prototype solar-thermal equipment features a standing, flexible dish lined with metal as well as a Stirling engine. The company aims to drop the price of such systems to around US$10,000 or less for around 3 kilowatts, targeting high-end homes and businesses. The Albion, Mich., company's background is in making satellite dishes.
