Also in the Stirling engine camp is Infinia. Like Stirling Engine Systems, it uses a dish to make heat that powers a Stirling engine to make electricity.
But rather than build huge dishes for placement in the desert, Infinia is making dishes that are about 20 feet high. With many put together, they can be used for small to medium-size power plants of about 10 megawatts. Infinia has 334 units generating a megawatt of power during the peak times of electricity demand.
