Creating maps for GPS devices is not as simple as just digitizing existing maps. Using a special van is how Tele Atlas makes sure its maps are accurate.
Tele Atlas, a map content company from Netherlands, deployed its first mapping van in Southeast Asia in Singapore. This orange Fiat carries quite a number of high-tech gadgetry to capture map data just by being driven around.
