The Making of "Cruze".

Recently while watching a program on music. It occurred to me that a lot of the public, due to no fault of their own. Was unaware of just how much expense, time and effort went into recording music, especially for DIY musicians.

So I came up with this idea of showing a partial list of some of the efforts: Firstly nearly $20,000 of personal savings was spent overall on the Cruze album recording (and some bands spend up to $50,000). This includes payment to all musicians who appeared on the album, hiring out rehearsal studios leading up to the recording, paying the producer and recording studio costs, the mastering costs, paying the artist for the cover art and CD artwork and copyrights etc., costs of the printing and manufacturing of the CD?s and booklet (remember this was actually recorded in 2005, so before digital music was the main source of getting music).

Most of the twelve months was spent on preparing (not writing) the songs for the recording. At least three of those months were used to rehearse with the musicians. Seven weeks were used to record, mix and master the album. Quite a few weeks was spent getting the artwork and photos finalised and the printing done. Then before that year, there were the months and months and some songs years, spent writing the actual songs.

So there you have it! You now have a better understanding of what are some of the things that go into the making of an album with real musicians. I could have used a computer program of synthetic instruments and made it much cheaper for you, but I chose to give you real actual musicians instead.
