There's a certain manner of rhyme that only a veteran Northern California emcee can pull off--listen to Too $hort and you'll get the idea. Former Click member B-Legit is in the uniquely credible inner circle. The recent spotlight on hyphy ought to earn the solid "Throwblock Muzik" attention.
B-Legit, also known as The Savage (born Brandt Jones in Vallejo, California).
Early in his career he was part of The Click, the rap group founded by B-Legit's cousin, E-40 before striking out on his own with 1995's Tryin' to Get a Buck. In 1996's Hemp Museum, he moved to Jive Records and worked with (cousin) E-40 and Kurupt (the Dogg Pound); Ghetto Smile followed in 1997, and two years later B-Legit resurfaced with Hempin' Ain't Easy and then Hempin' in mid-2000.
He gained much attention for collaborating on Tupac Shakur's album titled All Eyez on Me. Has also collaborated with numerous other artists including E-40, Celly Cel, Too Short, Jadakiss, Styles P, Snoop Dogg, Master P, Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, The Federation, Mystikal, UGK, Mack 10, Paul Wall, Keak da Sneak, Rick Rock, Young Buck, Yukmouth, Numskull, and the late Mac Dre. He is cousins to members of The Click, Mac Mall, Turf Talk, Little Bruce and E-40's son, Droop-E.
He just recently released an album digitally in November 2007 titled Throwblock Muzik under his independent label Block Movement in conjunction with it's physical release through SMC.
