Praising God....southern style! The Southern Praise Band was formed in 2006 when "Boogie" and Danny came to Murray after service one Sunday and said, "Dude, we're gonna be a band!" Murray, ever cautious, and so particular of whom he will jam with replied, "Okay...cool!" Along came Becky, Kathy, and Cameron and Southern Praise was born. SP started out as a praise band for Servant's Heart Ministry Church and then took their sound on the road...sort of. The band played several shows and services that year and then everyone's schedules became crazy so they took a break. God lead Murray to call the group in February 2008 and they are currently practicing and getting ready to hit the road by summer, God willing. The band currently plays original music written by lead vocalist Murray Paul Gordon. His writing style blends southern gospel and southern rock with praise and worship, hence the name 'Southern Praise', (which Becky suggested) for the band. They hope to be on the road by the summer of '08, covering some of the material on MPG's self recorded & produced solo project, "All That I Have", some of which you will hear on this site.
