If you know indie music, you're probably familiar with Andrew Douglas Rothbard, the voice behind Sub Pop rage-rock outfit Pleasure Forever. In case we don't have your attention, Rothbard also sang with VSS and Slaves. Yea, that's the guy. Rothbard returns to the scene with his first solo project Abandoned Meander, a tripped-out and psychedelic ramble through a dark folk forest. This disc is the first in a series of five, in which Rothbard plans to outline the "Law of Fives". Rothbard takes listeners on a heady and intense voyage with this project, and although we feel that the album plays best from start to finish, try tracks #4 - Highuponlove and #7 - Indigo.
