The Prime Spinister?started out in 1994 deejaying at Roll-O-Rama, a Richmond, Virginia skating rink.From deejaying came the desire to produce music,so he began producing hiphop tracks and writing songs with a boss dr- 5 drum machine (a christmas gift) 2 technics 1210's and a gemini mixer.In 1994 The most popular songs in the skating community were songs by Freestyle "Don't Stop the Rock","Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaata, and "egypt, egypt"by The Egyptian Lover, although any Debbie Deb or Trinere track would get it goin as well.Prime wanted to find a way to bring the energy from these "old school tracks"into the new school of hiphop where slowed down beats with no scratch-mixing seemed to be taking over. In feb 1995 prime spinister? met *DJ Ron G, the innovator of the r&b hiphop track blend, something that is now the "standard" for hiphop remixes. (still has & uses the autographed slipmats signed by Ron G) then?later in 1996 he was able to meet & (unofficially,he arrived late...oops)open for DJ S&S(most recently viewed on the vh-1 hiphop honors show).Prime Spinister?left the DJ spot at Roll-O-Rama the day after his 21st b-day(APRIL 1999) and accepted a(club) DJ spot at the VIP lounge in Richmond,VA.Prime continued to produce beats and write songs while deejaying at the VIP lounge and?in January 2002?recieved a diploma as an honor student from the Audio Institute of America in the "recording engineer"program.Also occurring in 2002,There was an apartment fire in? which Prime SPINISTER?lost a gemini sampler and about 700 vinyl records (ouch). Less than a week after the blaze however,?good karma struck and? caused?Prime?to almost run his car off the road when he heard one of his songs playing on 106.5 the beat in Richmond,VA.The song was played on a countdown called the funky four plus one more, the four songs coming from major artists and the "one more" being a local artist.In feb 2003 Prime? Spinister?left the DJ spot at the VIP lounge to further pursue production & recording.Prime Spinister?established ThrowbackRecords.com in January 2004 as a web?portal?label,production company & "mobile"?recording studio with a mission to bring back that "Throwback" sound & energy.In January 2006 The? PRIME SPINISTER? competed? in the 1st annual? Sam ASH? hosted "Battle of the Beats" in Richmond,VA?entering a remix of "my humps"?by black eyed peas in the remix category? as well as two tracks in the hiphop and one in?the r&b slot.Prime Spinister?recieved props from a lot of his fellow producers on?his tracks entered and recieved high scores from the? "industry". judges.The over all winner of the 2006?Battle of the Beats in Richmond,VA was a N.C.? Producer? named?? "APPLE JUICE KID".Props go out to him and all the other talented producer's who?represented their own sound.Special props go out to fellow Richmond,VA verteran Producer? "The Bedroom Wizard".
