Jacob and Alex Lonc began as the rap duo A-Money and Project Jake (APJ) 3 years ago. The brothers first album was called "Babay Kids" and began getting them hype around Ann Arbor. Vocalist, Allie Pearlman recorded "Black Shadows" with the group which moved higher and higher on the mp3.com charts, peaking at #20. This gave everyone a sign that APJ was going to begin to make their mark. To further this, APJ began readjusting their sound to make for better sounding tracks. The two began talking about a second album called "The Concept." The sophomore album had close to 10 tracks ready to be recorded by the summer of 2003, until the boom of Original Beats began taking place. All of the songs that were originally going onto "The Concept" had been scrapped because Original (A-Money) began making some of the hottest beats, lyrics were getting better from APJ, and Young B joined the picture and began recording with them. This was when "Midwest Hip Hop(feat. Young B)" was released on mp3.com. This was when the new higher quality sound became noticeable for APJ. APJ then came with their biggest song yet "Got My Own Styles, Aight (feat. J-Boze)." The hottest beat yet by Original laced with nice verses and a collaboration with an artist who reached #1 on the mp3.com rap charts (J-Boze "P.I.M.P"). How can you go wrong? "Got My Own Styles, Aight (feat. J-Boze)" peaked on the rap charts at #16 before mp3.com shut down. Finally making their mark in Ann Arbor, Original Productions has gained more interest from rappers and has began recording the upcoming mix tape. Project Jake has also began gaining interest from the Kalamazoo crowd, where he attends Western Michigan University.
