Property of the Unknown was founded as the band "Afterglow" with four members. Due to a slight shift in members, two left, The remaing two felt a name change was in order. Nowadays the band is only consisting of two members: Mans Ljungmark(vocals, guitars) and Richard Wadstein(bass, backing vocals): the two members that stuck with the project, and the only really dedicated members of the original four. "Playing drums on all our songs is the exellent drummer Klas Richardsson. He is the reason these songs are made and not still in my head" says songwriter, Mans Ljungmark, who realized one of his dreams in recording these songs. "The songs are meant to bring out emotions and make people feel, those emotions that can be claimed as Property by anyone, they belong to the unknown. The persons having these feelings being unfamiliar to the band and their feelings being even more unknown. We try our best to represent that emotion, in the best way we can" says lead singer Mans Ljungmark. "Mostly we can't!" Richard exclaims sarcastically. Bringing out emotion or not, Property of the Unknown let's us know that they'll soon be going back into the studio to record their third demo. "As usual it will probably be about five songs, but the material might differ slightly to our recent material. The new songs will be more up tempo and driven by drums, much like one of our more popular songs, White Blue Statue. As a band and especially for me as a song writer I must admit that I've been having problems in defining our sound. Hopefully this demo will summarize our history into a gasturbine powered engine train moving one way along a rail up in the sky. But we'll probably", "fuck up as always?" Richard fills in. "Exactly!" Mans says smiling. "But the summertime is the best time to record stuff in sweden" Mans says, surely thinking of the extremely cold winters they suffer in Sweden. So there you have it!
