Andrew Muscat-Clark

Andrew Muscat-Clark is a Sopranista or male soprano. His repertoire includes music from the Medieval and Baroque, through to the contemporary including works by Britten,Lim and Schoenberg. Studying Clarinet with Isobe Cater-Stokight and Pammela Webster-Bloom, and Voice under Dame Joan Hammond DBE CMG ,the then Dean of Opera at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne,Australia. Encouraged by Heather Leviston {a performer & teacher at the VCA high school} and her husband Bevan he soon found a niche in Melbourne's Early Music scene, performing with The Telemann Ensemble, Ars Nova and Acord, later performing in Baroque Opera productions with Barrie Kosky's 'Treason of Images' theater company, and the first Opera productions at Melbourne's famous "la Mamma" and "Anthill" theaters directed by Douglas Horton, who later founded "Chamber maid Opera". He has worked widely with the Elesion Ensemble especially in works by Liza Lim including "The Oresteia" and installation works 'Afterwards from a tower, a translation' with artist Domenico De Clario. All of these recordings were made 'Live' by my partner Cliff Greet {to whom I'm eternally grateful} and minimally edited by me! To all my Colleagues "Thank You" for making music with me! And a big "Thanx" to my fairy Godmother, no longer with us except in spirit & Voice.
