Andrew Lih, former University of Hong Kong New Media lecturer and now Wikipedia researcher in Beijing, says that the banning of Wikipedia's Chinese sites is not uniform and varies according to polity.

Initial assumptions: What does Misohoni mean by spying?

Monitoring emails and actually opening them up and reading them are two very different things. If there is a kind of scanner that does not allow bulk emails to go through to specific channels, that's probably something that is allowable by law to avoid spamming.

But if the Gvernment is actively monitoring email content to pick out language that is meant to be used as evidence in criminal prosecutions or espionage cases, then well, what allows Hong Kong to do that?

It used to be oh-so-long-ago (like last year) that traditional media had the nose of every blogger and geek up its backside every time it wrote a story.

But today I was at the Foreign Correspondent's Club in Hong Kong where Interfax was giving a presentation about what it does.

MTV Networks Asia Pacific fires staff

Got a press release in the inbox this afternoon that says President Nigel Robbins is stepping down and a large number of staff have been made redundant so as to bring in more local talent.

Beginning of a trend? What does this do to possible acquisitions and, better yet, innovations in consumer goods? See, Singapore is likely not making any money for MTV as a regional headquarter, but in places where MTV is making money there are lots of new gadgets coming out.

This Christmas, touch me!

Please, please, please, give me money to buy this thing!



The whole phone is a touchscreen and when you engage it, the entire surface illuminates and the keypad, which is just a series of lights, glows with the numbers and letters you will need to dial your friends.

Man, this is the phone of the century! Or, as they say over at Engadget, this is the phone Chocolate wishes it was.
