Hum for me, baby
Posted by sprocket"Oh, darling. Your light brown eyes enchant me. Won't you please romance me... da di da... da di da..."
But sometimes I can't remember the words, and as much as I love my sweetheart, I am at a loss for language. I can't convey the feeling I have for her.
Luckily, I live in China, where the Microsoft people are apparently working with a mobile company to create "humming search". This is no joke.
According to Erik Johnson, the regional general manager for Greater China for Microsoft Digital Advertising Solutions, the technology in China has finally reached a place where a user will be able to search by phone for a downloadable MP3 simply by humming into the mouthpiece of his phone.
The billing would then go through the carrier. Incidentally, "mobile advertising is going to explode" in China over the next one or two years.
So, can we expect loads of searchable MP3s through an MSFT-enabled phone?
