Macs safer than Windows? NAAAAHHHHHHH

Posted by ooginlee
OK, I have to confess. I'm not a Mac user. But when was the last time you heard this smug reply from a Mac fan that Mac is so much more secure? Even experienced IT journalists and my friends have said this to me. They are willing to splurge on the Mac, because it looks cooler (which I agree), is easier to use (which I also agree), and because (and this is where they will pause for emphasis) the Mac is so much more secure. True? I never thought so, but who am I to say otherwise? Well, now Symantec's CTO has said so.

What's my first name?

Posted by ooginlee
There's something I seriously don't understand. First names and last names. For the Western World, a typical name goes something like Simon Smith. Simon is the first name, because it comes first. During Chinese New Year, at the annual koh hei media lunch, StarHub's ex-head of mobile for many years Chan Kin Hung had moved on to head a new division called the Advanced Multimedia Division. It was top secret, and nobody at StarHub would say anything beyond the name. Last week, StarHub launched the beta of pfingo, a new mobile 2.0 app that really, really impressed the socks out of me. And this is just beta.

Singapore sees plenty of computer gaming competitions in a year. Mostly they are hosted at shopping centers and LAN gaming sites. But today's Electronic Arts Play 07 will be hosted on the campus grounds of a local tertiary institution called SIM.
