Coals to Newcastle or cokes to Cali, Columbia?
Posted by mobileojisanWell, well, welcome to the arena. If they can survive here, nothing can beat them any more.
I guess TT International has to offer the best cost/benefit ratio for their goods to survive in Japan. The cheap price tag itself does not mean anything here. Americans buy even the garbages if it's cheap. Japanese don't.
TT International maintains its house brand of goods, "AKIRA". This brand will surely cause a lot of trouble in Japan, the home of original AKIRA. Yes, Otomo Katsuhiro's legendary manga and anime masterpiece.
Of course, TT claimed that they coined these three syllables from, guess what, AKIhabaRA. Oh, sure, nobody in Japan will buy this sad song. Your Mobile Ojisan won't.
Ah well, if TT International can sort out this tricky trademark problem somehow, the AKIRA name would appeal rather nicely in Japan. Definitely I'll buy an AKIRA electronic massage gear for my old bones. AKIRA digital vibrator would be a great hit, if they have no analog ones. AKIRA portable microwave will smoothly fit into the Neo-Tokyo neighbourhood.
Above all, the flagship gear of AKIRA products should be, of course, Kaneda's motorcycle. Anybody who had even the tiniest glance into AKIRA, either manga or anime edition, never can forget the futuristic image of Kaneda's bike.

| Kaneda's bike in AKIRA. TT International's star gear. Coming soon to your garage..... I hope. Kaneda warned, "I'm 'fraid this sucker's a bit too peaky for ya". |
