Welcome to the new CNET Asia!
Posted by juniperFinally, after all the cusses, the sweat, coffee mug stains, endless checks, and for some, hair loss, the CNET Asia team is at last live with version 2.
And it stars you. Yes, the real stars, you.
We've heard your feedback from surveys, and now we've given you more Web 2.0-friendly tools. With the new community features now onboard, this lets you interact with us at CNET Asia, rate our content, contribute to it, tell us if you think you know better, et al.
In short, you get to have your say. Well, more of it. You get to set up a profile with bio, interests, etc. You get to keep track of your ratings and discussion posts. You get to connect with people who own the same gadgets, love the same brands or are planning to buy the same things.
You get to build a Want It, Got It list from the thousands of consumer electronic products we've reviewed, together with handy specs, support information and other users' opinions. You even get to set up your own blog on CNET Asia's platform. Do discover these cool community features by signing up for a account, if you don't already have one.
Why else did we undertake a major remodel? As regular CNET readers, you know our site is always evolving to more fully mirror the relevance, the utility, and the thrill that personal tech plays in your everyday life.
We've given the site cleaner lines, added a new set of bright green tabs along the top of every page, and elevated the role of video. We're also made the pages more readable and easier to navigate while better highlighting our original content. And we've reorganized the links into more logical groupings.
Oh yes, you may also have noticed a green tab that points to a brand new blog called Crave. If that sounds familiar, that's because both our sister sites in the US and UK have their own, too. And like them, our blog is all about hot products, mainly in Asia.
All these changes will percolate throughout the rest of the site to serve you better. We hope you'll like what we've done to CNET Asia. Good or bad, tell us what you think. As always, we would love to hear your thoughts.
