Congratulations to the math team
Posted by hieuvahuyIMO has been the first international competition for high school students to compete on math problem-solving skills. This year, the event welcomes 94 teams with 526 students from 94 countries around the world. It is organized in Ha Long Bay, one of the most attractive places and world-recognized heritages of Vietnam.
"This is the fist time Vietnam has the honor to organize the IMO and we are proud to have the international community trust us in hosting this event." stated the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Tan Dung, in the opening ceremony on July 24.
I have been watching the Vietnamese team and was very happy when the results were out. With three gold medals and three silver medals, Vietnam comes third after Rusia and China. You can see the results from the IMO official Web site here
"This is the best year for the Vietnam team." said an article from Vnexpress, considered the best online newspaper in the country.
IMO is not just a competition but also a networking event where bright people around the world hang out with each other, exchange ideas and cultures. After two days of competition, students are divided into groups and spend their time visiting Vietnam.
Congratulations to the success of IMO Vietnam.
