Computer giant launches its smartphone in Indonesia
Posted by budip
Following a global launch in Barcelona earlier this year, Taiwan-based computer maker Acer launched four smartphones (called the Acer Tempo Smartphone Series) this week in Indonesia.
According to Kama Kahar, director of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, Smart Handheld Business Group, it's part of the Acer movement in providing mobility solutions across varied devices, from Netbooks to smartphones
The product range includes the Acer DX 900, X960, F900 and M900. All models run on the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system and are equipped by the new Acer UI 2.0. The smartphone also comes with a preinstalled IDX Mobile application that enables Indonesian users to monitor stockmarket movements on-the-go.
It's interesting to see Acer's bid in the mobile market, especially in unique markets such as Indonesia where other newcomers like Apple's iPhone 3G and the Android-powered HTC Magic have so far failed to create their own success stories.
