No new BlackBerrys until RIM opens local office in Indonesia
Posted by budip
Following many postpaid users complaining about "PIN clone" cases that have gotten their BlackBerry handsets blocked by the operator, the Government is asking the Canadian wireless device company to establish a local office in Indonesia.
The Jakarta Globe reported that the Indonesian Government has temporarily halted issuing licenses for new types of BlackBerry devices. It is because RIM is still reluctant to open a branch office in the country, particularly for aftersales services, said Gatot S. Dewabroto, spokesman of The Communication and Information Technology Ministry.
