Indonesia joins MobileMonday

Posted by budip

Indonesia is joining the global phenomenon of MobileMonday with establishment of MobileMonday Indonesia last month and its kickoff marked in the Executive Brief Meeting in Jakarta, Monday.

A working team consisted of executives from some of the highest-profiled mobile companies in Indonesia including Nokia Siemens, Nokia Mobile Phones, Ericsson, Sony Ericsson as well as the country's giant network providers like Indosat, Telkomsel and Excelcomindo.

According to Andy Zain, founder of MobileMonday Indonesia, Indonesia's working team is supported by an advisory board consisting of senior management from all major operators and media companies in the country, "ensuring that MobileMonday Indonesia is always in tune with the industry trends", he said.

Initiated in Finland in 2000 by industry influencers like Vesku Paananen and Peter Vesterbacka, MobileMonday is the most developed mobile industry-related community and event organizer.

Currently, MobileMonday has become the largest networking forum for mobile/wireless professionals with over 100,000 members worldwide, including mobile operators, content providers, developers, Government--especially regulatory bodies, handset vendors, media, etc.

This forum is open to all parties engaged or interested in the mobile industry. Membership and events are free of charge and signing up can be done online via the MobileMonday Indonesia Web site.

As one of the working team members, I'd expect that this informal forum could bring more opportunities among the Indonesian mobile society to share their experiences and knowledge. Let's meet here at the first Monday of each month, talk and have a fun!
